The full-year study of Contracts is intended to provide students with an introduction to the common law of interpreting contracts, including requirements for the formation of both contracts and quasi-contractual obligations (restitution). Topics covered in this course include the following: (1) mutual assent; (2) consideration and its alternatives; (3) remedies; (4) statute of frauds; (5) the parol evidence rule and interpretation of contracts; (6) conditions and promises; performance and breach; (7) anticipatory repudiation; (8) third party beneficiaries; (9) assignment and delegation; and (10) avoidance of the contract.
